Cons I wanted a PDF converted to a Word doc. the PDF was full of highlights and markups and I wanted to be able to edit those out in a word doc for a clean document. The "converted" file was a page-sized image of the exact same page placed on a blank word doc. This is NOT a conversion. This is a cut-n-paste which PDF already allows in its software. I had to print out hard copies of the PDF then run them through my OCR app to get the results I thought I was paying $19.00 for. Live and learn.
Summary Save your $20.00 and spend it on something useful.Cons I bought the program outright, but now it is mysteriously gone from my computer, and the BCL website acts like it doesn't know who I am even though I actually purchased the product two times. Also, no where to contact the company on the website. Frustrated.
Pros It's definitely worth it to purchase the professional version for ONLY $19.95. I tried others that weren't able to open some of my files. However, the BCL EasyConverter opened them with no problems at all. I performed a test by using the trial version. Once it opened the first 3 pages, I felt confident it would be a great product to have indefinitely.
Cons The only change I'd like to see is: -The ability to convert multiple file at time, -Notice file duplications. For instance, I accidentally converted the same PDF file twice, and the software didn't catch that. -Have an "All Files" option imbedded within the software, as that would show files that have already been converted. ****CURRENTLY THE SOFTWARE ONLY DETECTS "PDF" FILES.******
Pros I've been using this for about 5 months. Works beautifully again and again. What prompted to post here now was that I just converted a complicated legal PDF with many checkboxes and box areas. And it converted all of those! Wow. How many PDF converters would do that? Not many I tried. The interface is baby-simple. The simplest of all similar products I've seen.
Cons Haven't found any. Summary Love it. Highly recommended.Cons My experience: the software converts to .rtf, not Word, and Word cannot read the .rtf. Only way to open the .rtf is in WordPad. In WordPad, as might be predicted, document lacks non-text and formatting of text is altered.
Summary I purchased this product to convert a series of documents, some of them quite long and complex. Product is unable to handle an 8-page pdf with non-text inserts. Does not bode well for longer documents/more demanding tasks. Would advise use of pdftowordconverter.net instead -- free and effective.
Pros I converted a 2 page PDF brochure using BCL easyConverter to Microsoft Word. The output was very, very good. The brochure had multiple columns on one page and bulleted points in lists in addition to the main text on the front page. They all came through well. Columns and lists were retained as were the images. Fonts were preserved. The final output looked great, requiring only minor retouching.
Cons One side list of bulleted points needed some reformatting although the text was all correctly converted. All other bulleted points in columns on page 2 came through great.
